This talk addresses to Nichtnegativstellensätze for definable functions in o-minimal structures on . Namely, let be definable -functions and assume that is non-negative on

Under some natural hypotheses on zeros of in , we show that is expressible in the form where each is a sum of squares of definable -functions. As a consequence, we derive global optimality conditions which generalize the Karush–Kuhn–Tucker optimality conditions for nonlinear optimization. This is joint work with Dinh Si Tiep.
